A Muslim organization is upset about a LEGO minifigure of a masked terrorist bandit with an assault rifle, grenade launcher and belt of explosives:
These LEGO creations are actually pretty cool! They’re made by BrickArms, a small family business in Redmond, WA specializing in original, custom-designed LEGO-compatible weapons, weapons packs, accessories, and custom minifigs. (I always wondered what the LEGO Group thought about this since military-themed products are against their philosophy….although they don’t mind producing space weapons and medieval swords!)
The article is a little misleading, saying that “Father-of-three Mr. Chapman boasts on his website that his nine-year-old son gave him the idea.” It seems to imply that the boy came up with the idea for the terrorist set, but it was actually LEGO World War II toys that the boy was originally looking for, and that’s how their company got started.
